How kind of you to share your heartfelt thoughts. I agree that the greatest generation is no more. All we can do is strive to be like them. I will connect with you via your email. I love quotes and appreciate the one you shared. I hope to live my life even half as honorable as he has. In my eyes, there is no comparison to what he was and what I am. All I can do is try to emulate him and pray for the strength to do so.

Your writing told a story of a man who loved and lived life. I can only imagine how proud he must have been of you – and humble in knowing what you wrote here of him.

You wrote …”always put honor and honesty first”… That generation of men is no more. My father passed away 5 years ago. Like your father, my father entered this world the same way he departed it: dignified. To note, A day does not go by that I do not think of him. Nor will yours. In some small way, maybe the reading below will have special meaning for you, as it did for me, as you now live your life in remembrance of your beloved father:

“God, grant me the strength of eagle wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on His spirit to carry me there.”

I loved him dearly, and will miss him tremendously, I have the memories that will last for the rest of my lifetime and I am assured his memory will linger on through my children as he treated them as he did I… as one of his own.
