Putting Lipstick on the Stimulus Pig

Putting Lipstick on the Stimulus Pig

Not one Republican voted for the pork-filled stimu-LESS package and 11 Democrats crossed the aisle to vote with the Republicans! Even though it was passed by the House, I am encouraged by the Democrats who stood up to the menacing administration of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their minions. Thank you to those brave souls……..

Rep. Allen Boyd [D, FL-2]
Rep. Bobby Bright [D, AL-2]
Rep. Jim Cooper [D, TN-5]
Rep. Brad Ellsworth [D, IN-8]
Rep. Parker Griffith [D, AL-5]
Rep. Paul Kanjorski [D, PA-11]
Rep. Frank Kratovil [D, MD-1]
Rep. Walter Minnick [D, ID-1]
Rep. Collin Peterson [D, MN-7]
Rep. Heath Shuler [D, NC-11]
Rep. Gene Taylor [D, MS-4]

I learned a new word today: Blue Dogs. The Dems who voted against the package are titled as such because they are moderately conservative: The Blue Dog moniker was taken by members of the Coalition because their more conservative views had been “choked blue” by their party…

…..There are 48 Blue Dog Democrats and 11 of them voted against the free-wheeling spenders in our administration. On another note, Rush Limbaugh appeared on Fox and Friends and CNBC to share his bi-partisan stimulus proposal reaching out to Obama to accept it. He claims his plan is the only truly bi-partisan one on the table. Basically, the major flaw in the plan is the outrageous pork payments to his liberal cronies who put him in office–like the $400 billion for global warming and there’s more:

The big payoffs are to environmental groups like the $600 million to buy alternative fuel and electric vehicles for the GSA, to unions like the NEA which gets a fat $50 million in grants, to other parts of the education establishment in the form of extensive student loan programs, and big money for social engineering projects like $1.2 billion for youth jobs programs, $2 billion for low income daycare and $3.2 billion for early head start pre-kindergarten programs — soon to be mandatory in a government school near you

There are a total of $900 billion dollars in this Titanic of a package–a bill that our grandchildren and their children will be paying for. It is a pork-filled gift for political favors.
