I’m appalled that liberal ideology has pushed its way into the preschool arena. I should not be appalled because every day we wake up to another horror from this administration. From where in our country do these sick and twisted ideas begin?
Safe School Czar (which after some investigation you will agree is an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one) Kevin Jennings is the former head of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) whose stated mission is:
to empower gay youth in the schools and to stop harassment by other students. It encourages the formation of Gay Student Alliances and condemns the use of hateful words. GLSEN also strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying.
What is amazing is the list of recommended reading the group proposes for teachers to purchase for required reading or for students themselves to obtain. From Big Government:
Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.
This is the America promoted by Barack Obama and the radical far left. A March 2000 GLSEN youth conference at Tuft University was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education and some of the presenters even received our tax dollars!
So it is not surprising to read about the Helena Montana Public School Board considering a graphic sexual curriculum for preschool and primary students. The K12FinalHealth will be voted on by the board next month. The Montana Family Foundation is fighting the proposal:
According to the draft proposal, beginning in kindergarten, school nurses will teach students proper terms such as “nipple, breast, penis, scrotum and uterus.” And once they are promoted to first grade, children will learn that sexual relations could happen between two men or two women. By the time students are 10 years old, instruction will include the various ways people can have intercourse, be it vaginally, orally or through “anal penetration,” according to the proposal.
I think the worst thing beyond this dangerous proposal and direction our public schools are taking in this “politically correct” environment is the attempt to take over for parental responsibility in a nanny state. The McDonald’s Happy Meal debacle is just one example–deciding that it is appropriate to teach graphic sexual content to primary students goes beyond the pale.
