Gabrielle Giffords, 40, {Democratic Congresswoman from Arizona} was targeted at a public gathering by a man with a semiautomatic weapon around 10 a.m. Saturday, {January 8th} outside a busy Tucson supermarket. Arizona’s chief federal judge and five others were killed and 14 people were injured, including the Democrat lawmaker. He also fired at her district director and shot indiscriminately at staffers and others standing in line to talk to the congresswoman, said Mark Kimble, a communications staffer for Giffords.

In addition, “John M. Roll, the Chief Federal Judge in Arizona, was fatally wounded in the attack near Tucson on Saturday that killed five others and wounded 19 people…” Is there anyone else who is deeply concerned at losing first, this incredible man but second a federal judge authentically conservative? Federal judges are appointed by presidents and we already have too many liberal judges.

Whether we like it or not, judges – specifically federal judges – have greater and greater control over how we live our daily lives. And we have too many liberal judges.

Liberals tend to ignore our Constitution as it was written by our Founding Fathers and work to introduce liberalism into our society via our courtrooms and not our political process.

And liberal judges help them do it.

Obama and Holder are on a mission. They’ve been on this mission since B.O. took office. Taking away our right to bear arms, granted in the second amendment, is one of their many goals to reduce Americans’ freedom and liberty.

From Gifford’s own statements:

The {PIMA} sheriff blamed the vitriolic political rhetoric that has consumed the country, much of it occurring in Arizona.
Giffords expressed similar concern, even before the shooting. In an interview after her office was vandalized, she referred to the animosity against her by conservatives, including Sarah Palin’s decision to list Giffords’ seat as one of the top “targets” in the midterm elections.

“For example, we’re on Sarah Palin’s targeted list, but the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action,” Giffords said in an interview with MSNBC.

From 10Shooters.com:

From day one of the campaign, Barack Obama has claimed he’s for the Second Amendment, but that claim rings hollow. Look deeper and you’ll see that beneath his slippery oratory lies a history of votes against firearms ownership that makes it clear he intends to gut the Second Amendment.
Beyond Obama’s rhetoric, just look at his voting record when it comes to our guns and our freedoms:

In his earliest days in the Illinois State Senate, Obama supported a bill that would require law-abiding citizens to visit their local police department and ask for permission to buy a gun. He also proposed closing every gun shop within five miles of a school or park. That’s 90 percent of the gun shops in America!

Then, when running for Congress in 1996, Obama answered a candidate survey from the Independent Voters of Illinois in which he openly supported a ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns, a ban on commonly owned long guns and mandatory waiting periods and background checks on gun purchases.

When gun owners exposed this gun-ban agenda, Obama’s campaign denied he’d answered the survey, instead claiming that an aide had filled it out. But the real truth became obvious when subsequent news reports revealed that Obama’s own handwriting appeared in the margins of the survey….

As a U. S. senator, Barack Obama has voted in support of predatory lawsuits designed to bankrupt the firearms industry, and he’s voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting. As a state senator in Illinois, he voted to uphold local gun bans and the criminal prosecution of people who use firearms in self-defense. He supports gun-owner licensing, gun registration, gun rationing, useless waiting periods and more.
Barack Obama’s 10-point plan to “change” the Second Amendment:

1. Ban the use of firearms for home defense.

2. Pass federal laws eliminating your right-to-carry.

3. Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.

4. Close down 90 percent of the gun shops in America.

5. Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

6. Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent.

7. Restore the voting right for five million criminals, including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.

8. Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.

9. Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.

10. Appoint judges to the U. S. Supreme Court and federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

CCRKBA OPPOSES TRAVER NOMINATION TO HEAD BATFE
The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today is announcing its opposition to the nomination, by President Obama, of Andrew Traver as director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

Traver is currently special agent in charge of Chicago’s BATFE field division, where he has a history of working with gun prohibitionists. He served as an advisor to the International Association for Chiefs of Police on that group’s 2007 “Gun Violence Reduction Project,” in cooperation with the anti-gun-rights Joyce Foundation. This project involved several high profile anti-gun-rights advocates, but there was not a single representative from the firearms community on the advisory panel.

“The nomination of Andrew Traver is more proof that Barack Obama has complete disregard for the Second Amendment and the rights of firearms owners,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “We have serious concerns that the agency, under his leadership, will maintain any semblance of cooperation with the firearms industry, over which BATFE exercises considerable control.”

And more from CCRKBA: OBAMA REVEALS ANTI-GUN U.N. INTENT; SENDS EX-SEATTLE MAYOR AS REP
The appointment of anti-gun rights former Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels as an alternate representative to the United Nations has removed any doubt about the Obama administration’s intentions regarding global gun control initiatives, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

Nickels, a founding member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the author of Seattle’s failed attempt to override Washington’s state firearms preemption statute, was sworn in Wednesday to “help represent the United States in the UN assembly,” according to the Seattle Times.

“Putting an extremist gun banner in any position to represent this country at the United Nations amounts to renting a billboard for advertising against the Second Amendment,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “While he was Seattle’s mayor, Greg Nickels supported every anti-gun scheme put forth by Washington CeaseFire, the Northwest’s most active gun prohibition lobby.

“Either fight it now, or get used to this kind of thing: Pennsylvania State Troopers — one with a drawn assault rifle, his trigger-finger ready — bracket a terrified driver during a roadblock set up near Pittsburgh following the death of a “comrade” in a domestic shooting. Don’t assume for a pico-second that the friendly people in official costumes would resist any opportunity to treat the rest of us like this.”

And so, fellow Americans, we are certainly at a crossroads. When a government seizes its citizens’ guns, when it establishes a militia to protect itself from its citizens, all we have to do is look to our southern neighbor, Cuba, to see the writing on the wall. I was there and saw the gunners on every other corner. I experienced our guide’s terror at being overheard when we asked questions regarding his opinion on just about anything. If our second amendment rights are taken, can our first amendment rights be far behind?

If you still doubt that our second amendment rights are in grave jeopardy, you need look no further than the several ongoing lawsuits by SAF (Second Amendment Foundation) against our own government to fight to keep a right that the founders guaranteed in their writing of the US Constitution. I just donated to this courageous group and I recommend you do also.
